Our Story

Vision to Reality

The Miracle League of Northern Indiana grew out of a dream from Dick Pfeil, a local entrepreneur and philanthropist. As the father of two adult children with cerebral palsy, he understood the barriers people with disabilities face. After discovering a Miracle Field in Florida, he was inspired to create one in his own community.

Play for All

Our Play Complex

Normain Park in Mishawaka, Indiana, reflects inclusion through purposeful design and innovative features. From Pfeil Miracle Field to Lilli’s Playground and our one-of-a-kind amenities, every detail was carefully created to ensure people of all ages and abilities can play, connect, and explore.

Invest in the Miracle

Our Capital Campaign

The Mishawaka Parks and Recreation Foundation is in the final stretch of its $5.2 million capital campaign to build Indiana’s first public, fully inclusive baseball field and play complex. These one-of-a-kind spaces allow children and adults of all abilities the chance to play, belong, and be celebrated.

Testimonials

“When he woke up, he’s like, ‘Mom, it’s Baseball Day!’ and I’m like, “It’s Baseball Day!” So he put on his jersey, and had the biggest smile, so that just made my momma heart so happy.”

Raven Armstead

Some people on the spectrum, they’re not too keen on crowds, or loud noises, or just appearances, but he’s able to shine out here and play! And hit the ball, catch the ball, run, fall, laugh, it’s great! And he’s truly enjoying himself, I can really see it in his face.

Reniti & Jerome Barker

We are people who have everyday lives, just come play with us! I cannot believe it, but this was the old park at first, and now look at it!
